Our Mission
DowneFX Dance Company's mission is to effect change through urban dance for the LGBT community. DowneFX is uniquely the only downe, gay, bisexual, and lesbian dance company of color using performance as a tool to promote empowerment, creativity, and social awareness in San Francisco Bay Area.
In 2001, DowneFX began with five members promoting HIV/AIDS prevention in San Francisco through dance and community outreach. Today, DowneFX has become one of the premier performance arts organization in the Bay Area! DowneFX is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community-based grassroots organization.
